Your new house has a pre-installed security system
Many times after you close on a home, you’ll find that the old owners used a security system. All the devices work, are installed in the correct places, and are ready to go. In this example, all you might have to do is to call and set up a new service contract. A Vivint installer will still come out to make sure there are no integration problems, and they may offer ideas on upgrades. It's a fast appointment, and you can have your alarm monitoring set up without having a bill for any new devices -- unless you make additions.
The previous owners can move an existing Vivint contract to your family for a nominal set-up cost to make the process easier. If the outgoing residents downsize to an apartment complex or smaller home, you keeping the Vivint contract may be a condition of the sale.
You need to move and bring your existing devices with you
You may want to bring your favorite home security components with you to your new home when you move. Luckily, it's fairly easy to transfer, as modern smart devices are wireless. You can uninstall each alarm or camera yourself or contact a professional expert to take care of the system. Then our installers will hang the same features -- and any new devices you want -- in your new place. The home security contract will stay the same.
